TNW NEWSLETTER MARCH 2020 Welcome friend! Check out TNW's upcoming events, features, and more!  Due to the high risk of COVID-19, TNW will not be accepting volunteers for monthly outreach. Protecting our neighbors and those volunteers who serve alongside us is our priority. We will continue to reach our neighbors where they are with Blessing Bags, prayer, and fellowship while following guidance from public health officials. Please keep our neighbors in your prayers as they face this challenging time. UPCOMING EVENTS Out of an abundance of caution we have decided to postpone our first fundraiser of the year. We hope to reschedule our Spring Fling Paint Night to a later date. Be on the look out for more details! DONATE TNW OUTREACH Unfortunately, this month we are canceling volunteer participation in our outreach event as a precaution for our volunteers' and neighbors' health. However, a small team of TNW members will serve our homeless and unstably-housed neighbors with blessing bags that include hand sanitizer and soap, among other toiletries. We will take precautions to ensure the well being of the team and those we are serving.  Our fellowship knows no limits when it comes to reaching our neighbors. We serve those living in underpasses, parks, train stations, shelters, and motels throughout Maryland and D.C. If you are familiar with an area where neighbors are in need of TNW's services, please email info@theneighborhoodwell.org with the subject line: OUTREACH AREAS. In the email please include a location with an estimate of how many neighbors are there regularly. We would love to expand our outreach, while maintaining the safety of our volunteers and our neighbors.  Thank you to all of our donors and volunteers for all your support! With your help we were able to serve over 1,871 neighbors in more than 10 communities within the DMV! Thanks to your continuous support, we have $28,600 dedicated to the launch of our Mobile Shower Program. This means we are less than $10K away from purchasing our first trailer! We opened with a lovely steel pan performance from TAGE on Steel, listened to a powerful spoken word from Sharon Milton, and learned about the need for a mobile shower for our Prince George's County neighbors from John Summerlot of the Prince George's County Department of Social Services.
